10 a.m.– 11 a.m.: Electrofishing demonstration and tour of the Walleye Fish Culture facility

Noon – 1 p.m.: Guest Speaker Professor John Van Niel

Bearing the winter: The secret lives of black bears

How do black bears survive the winter? What is a bear den really like? Professor John Van Niel and his students have been

placing cameras at bear dens to find out. Join us as Van Niel shares stories and images from bear dens in the Southern Tier.

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.:

  • Animal artifacts touch table, fish print-making, native plants and more
  • FLCC student guided nature hikes and invasive species education
  • FLCC student research poster session
  • FLCC alumni and student nature and wildlife photo contest- vote for your favorite!
