Aquatic Species Identification workshop

  • August 10, 2017
  • 6:00 PM
  • Onanda Park, Crouch Hall (4965 County Road 16 Canandaigua, NY)

This event is sponsored by the Canandaigua Lake Association.

Join us on Thursday, August 10th at 6:00 PM in Crouch Hall at Onanda Park for a family friendly event all about invasives!

Dr. Bruce Gilman (Finger Lakes Community College) will provide a hands-on workshop for aquatic plant identification. Learn how to identify natives and keep a trained eye out for invasive species.  Special emphasis will be placed on the identification of three problematic Finger Lakes invasives: Water chestnut, Starry stonewort, and Hydrilla. A Watercraft Steward will also be on site to demonstrate the steps you can take to prevent the spread of AIS while boating.

The event is sponsored by the Town of Canandaigua Environmental Conservation Board with support from CLWA and the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council.

Help us keep an educated eye on Honeoye Lake!
