Speaking of Nature talk presented by
Bruce Gilman, Ph.D., Professor of Environmental Conservation and
Director of Muller Field Station,
Finger Lakes Community College
After three summers of intensive field research on Honeoye Lake, the scientific data supports a convincing relationship among aspects of climate change, lake thermal regime, timing of thermocline rocking events and whole lake mixing, with the occurrence of harmful algal blooms (HABs). Please join us for a summary presentation of these complex processes and how they interact to increase the nutrient budget and stimulate excessive algal growth in the sun-lite waters of the lake.
Seating is limited and reservations are required! To make a reservation, please contact Nancy Lawson at 585-785-1257 or Nancy.Lawson@flcc.edu This event is co-sponsored by Finger Lakes Community College and the Honeoye Valley Association. More information is available at www.hvaweb.org
